The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the Common Market Organisation (CMO), which is derived from it, directly influence the farmers' income and, therefore, the supply of the commercial and industrial companies. They also participate in the market equilibrium, by activating mechanisms such as export refunds, private storage aid or public intervention. Finally, the CAP also legislates for access to funds for the modernization of commercial, industrial or promotion structures. Therefore, it defines the scope within which the livestock trade, the meat trade and the meat industry perform.
