Roland Ackermann is the new President of the UECBV, the European Livestock and Meat Trading Union. As CEO of the Austrian company Alpenrind and Vice-Chairman of the UECBV, he is synonymous with in-depth experience in the sector, leadership in Europe and the search for joint adaptations for a sustainable future. He affirmed the UECBV's commitment to sustainable meat production, meat trading and livestock trading in Europe. He stressed that ‘the livestock and meat sector is central and essential to the sustainable agri-food systems of today and tomorrow’. The UECBV's vision is of a fully resilient agri-food system, ensuring food and nutritional security for the entire population of the EU and beyond. At the same time, this system should continually reinforce sustainability in all its dimensions - economic, environmental and social - for the long-term prosperity of people and the planet.
