Import Platform 1st edition 2026

On 18 February, together with the @Argentine Embassy to the EU, we had the pleasure of organising the UECBV - The European Livestock and Meat Trades Union Import Platform, a key forum for open and constructive dialogue on international trade.

This biannual meeting brings together representatives from the embassies of Third Countries, UECBV Trade members, and the European Commission to exchange views and address practical challenges related to EU trade regulations. It is an important space to ensure that rules governing trade between the EU and Third Countries remain effective, workable, and aligned with on-the-ground realities.

This edition focused in particular on the implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation and developments surrounding the EU–Mercosur Agreement, two major files with significant implications for operators and trading partners alike.

The discussions were insightful, solution-oriented, and forward-looking, reflecting the shared commitment to cooperation and transparency in international trade.
