UECBV strives to strengthen the competitiveness of the European meat industry as a whole, and to combat distortions of competition. Also, UECBV endeavors to emphasise the importance of the meat industry as a vital link within the overall supply chain. UECBV participates in a EU Commission and food chain initiatives on competitiveness and fair trade, and also regularly reports and liaises with the relevant stakeholders on the issue.
